is looking for an Associate Financial Products Underwriting Manager
to join their team. This individual will work a hybrid schedule out
of the Chicago, IL office.Essential Job Functions and
Responsibilities
- Coordinates the daily operations of the Financial Products
Underwriting team, ensuring efficient workflow and
productivity.
- Conducts comprehensive reviews of risk assessments to validate
and verify the accuracy of underwriting decisions.
- Cultivates and maintains strong business relationships with
internal and external stakeholders to drive profitable growth.
- Collects and reviews reports and screenings, such as motor
vehicle reports, loss history reports, and external inspections, to
aid in underwriting decisions.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate documentation of
underwriting decisions and ensures compliance with state and
federal insurance regulations.
- Evaluates policy renewals and modifications, identifying
opportunities for policy enhancements and risk mitigation.
- Monitors and evaluates underwriting practices, implementing
strategic adjustments to improve overall effectiveness and
outcomes.
- Coordinates products and services promotions, ensuring
alignment with market growth objectives and enhancing customer
engagement.
- Provides technical guidance and ensures staff stay informed
about industry trends, regulatory changes, and market
conditions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.Job RequirementsEducation:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related
field or equivalent experience.Experience: Generally, a minimum of
5 years of underwriting, finance, banking, or related experience.
Continuing progress toward and/or the completion of a professional
designation preferred, such as Associate in Fidelity and Surety
Bonding (AFSB), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU),
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and/or Registered Professional
Liability Underwriter (RPLU).Scope of Job/Qualifications: Typically
manages 2 or more reports. Responsible for overseeing team
priorities and coordinating daily tasks. May occasionally perform
tasks alongside direct reports. Operates under policies and
procedures with limited oversight. Responsible for performance and
coaching of staff and has a participatory role in decisions
regarding talent selection, development, and performance
management. Provides training to new team members. Exhibits strong
analytical skills with the ability to use data to analyze
situations, identify problems, and develop effective solutions.
Ensures the team is knowledgeable of Underwriting policies and
procedures and remains informed on industry laws and
regulations.Business Unit: Executive LiabilitySalary Range:
$128,000.00 - $174,000.00Benefits: Compensation varies by role,
position level, and location. Individual pay is influenced by
skills, education, training, certifications, experience, and the
role's scope and complexity, along with business needs.We offer a
