walk with us today! Position Summary: We are currently seeking an
Automation Engineer to join our team. This position is based out of
our Mishawaka production facility and reports to the Maintenance
and Engineering Manager. Our Automation Engineering team is
responsible for the programming, documentation, training, and
knowledge of plant-wide instrumentation, controls, and other
strategic systems as well as the computer integration of the
manufacturing process and equipment. This is a great role for an
engineering professional with a desire to see the impact of their
work immediately, both through day-to-day troubleshooting
activities as well as through the execution of process improvement
and automation projects. What you'll accomplish in this
role:Support strategic initiatives of the businessImprove the
production work experience and plant throughputBe our controls
engineering troubleshooting championDesign and engineer controls,
instrumentation, and electrical systems in support of the process
and utility systemTrain staff on new and upgraded systemsCustomize
software solutions based on requirements; perform all programming
of the control system Perform and document technical design reviews
to produce the highest level of quality Who we're looking for:We
are looking for an Automation and Controls Engineering professional
who thrives on working through issues and improvements in
real-time, out on the production floor, collaborating with staff at
all levels. A continuous improvement mindset is a must, as you will
split your time between day-to-day troubleshooting, issue
corrections, and strategic project execution. In terms of skills
and experience, you may also have:A computer, electrical, or
chemical engineering degree. You might also be a licensed
construction electrician seeking a change in environment. A
demonstratable working knowledge of PC-based control systems such
as Allen Bradley, Rockwell Automation, Siemens, or Wonderware.
Experience with PLCs, SCADA, HMIAble to read equipment control and
electrical schematicsExperience successfully programming PLCs and
GUI systemsKnowledge of process control systems (i.e., utility
controls; steam, water, and air)Ability to configure industrial
machine controls, including AC/DC drivesA desire to work a regular
Monday through Friday, 8-hour a day position and the ability to
participate in an on-call schedule when you're not at the
plantPhysically capable to walk up numerous flights of stairs,
ladders, and/or working in confined spaces in extreme conditions.
Additionally, able to physically lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
