Information $2,122 per week About The Position Job Title:
Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Central Registry - Float
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7am to 7pm Hours per Shift: 12 hours
Experience: Minimum 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2 or tertiary
experience. Minimum 1 year of experience in a large facility with
600 beds. License: IN State or compact RN license required
Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Candidate must have at
least 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2 or tertiary experience.
Candidate must have at least 1 year of experience at a like-sized
facility (600 beds). BLS certification is required. Description:
The position involves providing general medical and surgical
nursing care. The unit cares for a diverse population of patients
with varying diagnoses. These include chronic illnesses such as
COPD, Diabetes, CHF, and end-stage renal disease. Management of
gastrointestinal issues such as pancreatitis, bleeding, and
inflammatory bowel diseases is also required. Additionally, care
for patients with infections such as pneumonia, cellulitis, sepsis,
UTI, and C-diff is included. Patients with neurological issues such
as stroke, dementia, and traumatic brain injuries will also be
managed. Mental health disorders including depression, anxiety, and
substance abuse require attention as well. Patients may undergo
procedures such as colonoscopies, thoracentesis, paracentesis,
bronchoscopy, and minor surgeries. General job duties include
assessments, care planning, and inter-professional communication.
Utilization of the electronic health record (EHR) is essential.
Skills in managing IV therapy, wound vacs, feeding pumps, and chest
tubes are required. Candidate will also manage heparin and insulin
drips. Patient ratios are typically 1:5-6. The role requires
floating to other medical units when necessary. A Jump Start
orientation program is provided, including general hospital
orientation and nursing-specific training. Epic charting and use of
various medical equipment are integral to the job. General dress
