TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified
ICU/Critical Care RN in Chicago, Illinois, 60612! Job Title:
Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit
Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in
ICU License: Current Nursing License required Certifications: BLS,
ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Mandatory floating within scope to meet
facility needs Description: Position for a Registered Nurse in the
Intensive Care Unit. Schedule consists of three 12-hour night
shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. No block scheduling is available.
Weekend requirements are every other weekend, totaling two weekends
per month. Requests for time off are limited to five days maximum,
with no more than two consecutive days off. No time off is
permitted on holidays or weekends. The facility is a mandatory
float facility, requiring all staff to float as needed. ICU RNs
will float between various ICU units, including Burn ICU, CCU,
Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU. If staffing requires, ICU RNs may
also be asked to float to Medical Surgical units. The first week of
orientation and precepting will be on day shift. The role requires
interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and patients with
multisystem organ dysfunction or failure. Key responsibilities
include arterial line management, central line care, continuous IV
sedation, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips.
Responsibilities also include assisting with the management and
maintenance of BiPAP and ventilated patients, and interpretation of
arterial blood gases. Suctioning of endotracheal tubes and
nasotracheal tubes, as well as adherence to isolation precautions
and PPE regulations, are also essential tasks. Completion of
computerized documentation is required. The facility emphasizes a
team-based care model and may require floating to various units as
necessary. Should a clinician refuse to float, it may lead to
cancellation of their contract. Compliance with all required
protocols and timely submission of documentation is expected. 5
