Job Description:
Job Description The Inpatient Palliative Care team is seeking a
compassionate Physician to join them providing consults to
hospitalized adult patients. You will join a growing group of
physicians, advance practice providers, nurses, chaplains, and
social workers along with administrative support. Qualities needed
for this role are compassion, flexibility, and a true desire to
help your patients. As a Palliative Care physician you will work
with our interdisciplinary team by providing health literacy,
ascertain goals and then collaborate to find an appropriate
treatment for patients. The Palliative Care team can manage
symptoms, facilitate goals-of-care discussions, and coordinate with
other healthcare providers to improve patient outcomes, reduce
length of hospital stay, and enhance overall patient and family and
provider satisfaction. People are at the heart of everything we do,

Functions Provide both symptom management and goals of care
conversations to often newly diagnosed patients and family members.
Coordinate comprehensive care delivery. Assesses the
patient’s/significant other’s, health care team’s, educational
needs and develops, implements, evaluates and revises teaching
strategies/educational programs related to area of specialty.
Ensures that operations are in compliance with professional
standards, applicable laws, accreditation, compliance/regulatory
requirements and that organizational goals are being followed.
Practices in accordance with the Michigan Public Health Code.
Delivers care in a manner that is culturally sensitive and
preserves patient autonomy, dignity and rights. Acts as a patient
advocate, crossing multidisciplinary lines to meet patient needs
Communicates, collaborates, networks with and acts as a consultant
to other members of the health care team within and outside
Corewell Health. Acts as a consult in area of expertise. Documents
in the medical record and dictates information as appropriate.
Provides input into the strategic planning, implementation and
evaluation of service/program. Measures the outcomes of care and
evaluate services across the continuum of inpatient to outpatient
services. Makes recommendations to improve the quality of patient
care provided and utilizes the scientific method to research
clinical problems. Qualifications License – Michigan MD/DO BE/BC in
Hospice & Palliative Care or another specialty with demonstrated
strong Palliative Care experience Certification - Basic Life
Support (BLS) Certification - Adv Cardiovascular Life Support
