Physician Assistant - Physicians Immediate CareJob Summary:In collaboration with a physician and in conjunction with other Advanced Practice Providers the Physician Assistant will provide compassionate and high quality care to urgent care and occupational medicine patientsDuties and Responsibilities:Provide and manage direct patient care including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatmentTriage patients to differentiate between immediate and less urgent careManage private, pre-employment, and workers compensation patients effectivelyOrder diagnostic tests such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests and interpret test resultsPerform digital blocks and regional anesthesiaPerform minor outpatient surgical procedures such as tendon repair, wound closure and management, incision and drainage, and needle biopsyPerform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as aspirations and injection of joints, bursas, and cystsPerform closed reductions of fractures and dislocationsApply and modify braces, casts, splints, and other orthopedic appliancesPrescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditionsInstruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimensCommunicate with patients regarding testing results, follow-up care, and additional informationCommunicate patient needs, diagnosis, and course of treatment to the patient, company, as well as other clinical staff and instruct and educate patients about discharge instructions if applicableParticipate in company required CME courses and perform CME credits to maintain licenseWe offer onsite training and a competitive benefits package including:Medical, Dental, and Vision401(k) with Employer MatchMedical Malpractice InsuranceA Generous CME allowancePersonal Paid Time Off and CME Paid Time OFfIn-House MedicalLife InsuranceSTD<DAnd more!Required SkillsExceptional communication skills, both verbal and writtenExcellent interpersonal skills to effectively and courteously deal with patients, families, clients, co-workers, clinical staff, and physiciansKnowledge of computer function and basic office equipmentExperience with electronic medical record strongly preferredOrganizational and analytical skills necessary to maintain efficient workflowAbility to maintain confidentiality of sensitive informationAbility to adjust responsibilities to accommodate a fast-paced work environment while maintaining excellent customer service and team interactionsRequired Experience A Master's Degree and certification by a Physician Assistant certifying entity is requiredMust have and maintain a DEA license with no restrictionsMust possess a current license to practice medicine in the state of IL and IL Controlled Substance License along with Federal DEA licenseClinical experience in an emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory care setting is preferredKnowledge of basic ER, internal medicine, generalist, occupational medicine, and family practice proceduresAbility to use the necessary equipment such as the nebulizer, EKG machine, etc.Must be able to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirementsMust be able to lift 50lbsJob LocationMishawaka, US-IN
