Job Description Job Description Position Summary: This role is responsible for ensuring the safety of members and guests in the pools and immediate surrounding areas. Primary Duties: Maintain safety in and around the pools. Provide supervision and perform life saving measures when necessary. Be aware of and participate in the servicing of the pool and maintenance of emergency equipment. Ability to be flexible and accommodating to meet Wellness Center hours and member needs. Must meet and maintain all safety requirements and certifications necessary to perform job duties. Complete knowledge of all Wellness Center safety protocols and confidence communicating via radio/overhead and with EMS as needed. Represent Humboldt Park Health in a positive and professional manner. Position Requirements: Current Lifeguard certification from a nationally recognized organization is required. Previous experience as a lifeguard preferred. Water Safety Instructor certification preferred. Be dependable, alert, and able to interact with members and guests of all ages in a positive manner. Maintain composure and act appropriately in moments when multiple unexpected challenges arise concurrently. Possess a passion for fitness, health, athletics, and wellness. Enthusiastic, professional, and genuine demeanor. Must be at least 16 years old Ability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
