Senior Full Stack Developer [Ruby on Rails] - New GradNeon For Life is a BNPL platform revolutionizing how consumers manage rent and utilities. We provide small-dollar loans to consumers for their monthly bills, which they repay in installments. Growing at a rapid pace, we are looking for dedicated individuals to help us scale further and build solid infrastructure.Job DescriptionThis position requires working from our downtown Chicago office (205 N Michigan), allowing you to fully engage with your team and take advantage of our vibrant work environment. This role is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.Salary Range for this position: $90,000 - $125,000 with the final offer based on experience, skills, and qualifications.H1B Visa Sponsorship is available for this position.Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails and Python/Django.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance and improve product functionality.
• Implement best practices in software development, testing, and version control (Git).
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to team members.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and incorporate them into Neon for Life's tech stack as needed.Qualifications
• Master's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or a related field is required. Latest graduation date: Dec 2024.
• Preferred: 2+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails, our primary tech stack. If not at an advanced level, you are expected to learn quickly.
• Solid knowledge of Python and Django frameworks.
• Experience with database design and management (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative version control workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, agile environment.Preferred QualificationsExperience working in the financial services industry is a plus. Proven experience working in seed to Series B startups is a plus.Day-to-Day
