Job Description:
Reporting to the Executive Associate AD, the Associate AD for
Information Technology is responsible for determining and
supporting the unique technology needs of DePaul's Athletics
Department. The role designs and implements the technology plan for
DePaul Athletics related to application development,
hardware/software purchases, maintenance of 150+ desktops, laptops,
and tablets, and keycard/ID access management. In addition, the
individual manages department-specific technologies, including
video analytics, videoboards/scoreboards, and television broadcast
technologies.This role will work collaboratively with the Athletics
Ticket Office to define, plan, and lead the implementation of
Athletics' data warehouse as well as provide technical solutions
and architecture design. This key position will collaborate closely
with coaches, staff, and university IT/IS teams to ensure the
effective integration of technology in both day-to-day operations
and long-term strategic planning. The successful candidate will be
crucial in supporting DePaul Athletics' commitment to innovation,
excellence, and student-athlete success while ensuring that all
technology-related systems and processes align with the
department's goals and objectives.--- Directs & Deploys Technology
Projects: Reviews and evaluates technology services for the
Athletics department. Gathers requirements, researches technology
options, and deploys technology, focusing on solutions that boost
efficiency and effectiveness. Identifies opportunities for greater
efficiencies, processes and cost savings. Implements projects and
coordinates details with Athletics staff, IS, external departments
and vendors.--- Supports Existing Technology Solutions & Directs
Technical Support: Manage and support several technologies across
multiple facilities, including access management, proactive
updates, reactive troubleshooting, and downtime monitoring. This
includes overseeing the CRM system, text-alert system,
ticketing/payment processing system, digital signage program,
locker room A/V integrations, Zoom/conferencing rooms, academic
computer lab, ID access management system, fiber-based broadcast
technologies, call center system/VOIP calling devices, golf
simulators, video analysis software, website CMS, and several
digital video/scoreboards. Provide first- and second-level support
for staff members who have technical issues with their computers,
laptops, and tablets. Oversees technical support for 200+ devices.
Works with IS on more difficult issues relating to security,
software, and hardware issues.--- Data Warehouse & Systems: Work
collaboratively with the Athletics Ticket Office to define, plan,
and lead the implementation of Athletics' data warehouse as well as
provide technical solutions and architecture design. Collaborates
with functional users and groups, gathers business needs, plans,
and designs the data warehouse's logical and physical data
structure and the data flow from source systems (internal and
external to DePaul) into the data warehouse.--- Develop & Update
Infrastructure Map/Documentation: Leads the strategic development
and continuous refinement of a comprehensive, enterprise-wide IT
infrastructure map for the Athletics Department. Collaborates with
key internal and external stakeholders to assess, document, and
update all system integrations, ensuring the infrastructure aligns
with current and future organizational needs.--- Performs Budget
Planning & Negotiates Vendor Contracts: Sets strategy for hardware
resources; develops multi-year, budgetary cost projections that
ensure sufficient hardware supplies, while also focusing on
cost-savings measures; reconciles account expenditures with the
University's budgetary reports. Negotiates contracts for all
software vendor relationships within the Athletics Department.---
Knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA rules, policies, and
procedures pertaining to the department's communications and media
relations function. Attend and participate in monthly NCAA rules
compliance meetings.--- Responsible for managing a department
budget.--- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, technical, computer
science, or related field. (MS preferred)
--- 4-6 years of relevant experience.
--- Up-to-date knowledge of PC and laptop specifications,
maintenance, and troubleshooting.
--- Demonstrated experience in identifying, evaluating,g and
deploying new technology that boosts office-wide efficiency.
--- Demonstrated experience deploying and upgrading systems;
directing and managing technology projects.
--- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the
ability to clearly convey technical business issues and solutions
to stakeholders at all organizational levels, both internally and
externally.
--- Strong organizational and time management skills with the
ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
--- Experience leveraging data and analytics to drive business
decisions and outcomes.
--- Quick to learn and proficient in adapting to new systems and
tools.
--- Demonstrated experience in working in a diverse urban and/or
intercollegiate athletics environment.
--- Dedication to serving the department, the University, and the
student-athletes with the highest level of leadership, initiative,
and integrity.
--- A working knowledge of NCAA, BIG EAST Conference, and
University rules and regulations as they apply to intercollegiate
athletics.
--- Position requires working evenings, weekend hours, and select
holidays during the school year.
--- Attendance at select sporting and special events is required to
support IT operations and overall event production.
