Office (US DMO) is responsible for establishing data as a strategic
asset for CIBC US Region, further enhancing data governance,
building out our data and analytic capabilities, and developing the
US Region data management strategy. Our strategy is to leverage
data and analytics to build competitive advantage to enhance our
client focus. To facilitate this, we will improve our data quality
through focused data governance programs and processes, use new
data technology to increase agility and reduce cost and become an
analytics leader, focusing on continuous advancement. What You’ll
Be Doing This role is accountable for supporting and
operationalizing the US DMO’s data risk review and control
environment. You will assist in the proactive identification,
assessment and management of data risk across new initiatives,
technology changes and third party engagements. Working closely
with business and risk partners, you will help ensure that data
risk is recognized, clearly documented, with appropriate
mitigations put in place to reduce the risk. In addition, you will
play a key role in the data risk incident process by ensuring that
incidents are accurately logged, assessed, and tracked through
remediation. If remediation stalls, you will escalate issues and
keep leadership and risk partners informed with timely updates.
Success in this role requires strong judgment, operational
discipline and the ability to drive accountability across

manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where
you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be
remote. How You’ll Succeed Contribute to Early Risk Identification
and Assessment - Conduct data risk assessments for new initiatives,
technology changes, and third-party engagements by gathering
information, applying the operational risk taxonomy to identify
risks, and documenting recommended mitigation actions. Track
progress of assessments to ensure timely completion and escalate
complex issues for further review when necessary. Support Data
Sharing Governance - Support the end-to-end data sharing agreement
process by gathering and validating information on data sharing use
cases, guiding stakeholders through form completion and secondary
review steps, and coordinating data owner sign-off on agreements.
Track progress of annual data sharing attestations and follow up to
ensure timely completion. Oversee and Execute Data Incident
Management - Support execution of the data incident management
program by reviewing submitted incidents, assist with initial
assessment, update records as remediation actions are implemented.
Monitor incident status, aging, and emerging trends; escalate
delays in remediation as needed. Provide timely updates and
transparent reporting to leadership and risk partners. Strengthen
Data Quality - Conduct data reconciliation activities to ensure
accuracy and consistency across systems. Identify and address data
quality issues, and support initiatives to strengthen data
integrity and governance. Drive Cross-Functional Engagement - Work
closely with business, technology, and risk partners to collect
information, clarify requirements, and support the implementation
of risk mitigation actions. Participate in meetings and document
outcomes. Develop Metrics and Reporting - Create and maintain
metrics and reports on data risk assessments, data sharing, and
incidents. Analyze metrics to identify trends, support leadership
decision-making. Contribute to Process Improvements - Identify
opportunities to streamline and automate data governance processes
and risk management workflows to strengthen control effectiveness.
Who You Are You have a degree/diploma in business, information
systems, risk management or a field. Minimum of 3-5 years of
experience in data governance, risk management, audit or control
oversight within a regulated environment. You are a strong
communicator . Exceptional interpersonal, communication (oral and
written) and problem-solving skills, including effective engagement
with all levels of the organization, including senior management,

technologies. You can easily adapt to new tools and trends. You
have a strong technical acumen, including proficiency in Excel,
PowerBI, PowerPoint, and familiarity with AI technologies.

rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $100,000
- $120,000 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and
location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible
to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive
compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus
