Employment Type:Full timeShift:12 Hour Day ShiftDescription:JOB SUMMARYProvides assistance with basic patient care and coordination of endoscopy equipment and supplies needed during the endoscopy procedures.Works under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse according to established guidelines. Responsible for cleaning and coordination of instrumentation and equipment used in the endoscopy suite.JOB DUTIESActively demonstrates the organization's mission and core values, and conducts oneself at all times in a manner consistent with these values. Knows and adheres to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health, safety and medical information. Assists the RN with patient care activities acting as a second circulator for minor procedures and endoscopy cases. Checks equipment in room prior to the start of the day and assures that the supplies and equipment for the patient care are available and ready for use. Connects equipment such as electrosurgical unit and suction as directed. Gowns and gloves in order to hold the camera or adjust equipment. Assists with collection of specimens. Follows direction of surgeon/physician. Assures supplies are available for equipment in the procedure room. Problem solves simple equipment malfunctions in a timely manner. Operates equipment smoothly with minimal delay of cases. Restocks specialty supplies/carts for assigned area. Assigned equipment carts are cleaned and stocked adequately prior to beginning of each case. Cleans and maintains supplies and equipment in an orderly manner for easy access to equipment and supplies. Clean storeroom on a weekly basis. Assists RN with patient care activities and transporting.
