About the job: The purpose of the position is to provide for the health and safety of children by conducting inspections of licensed child care homes to ensure that homes are meeting all child care statutes, rules and policies. This postion fulfills the statutory requirements that the agency adminster licensing/registration activities for the protection of children in child care settings. Utilizes education, training, consultation,cooperation and enforcement to accomplish goals. Employee works at professional level and reports to a manager. A day in the life:* Conduct regulatory inspections and assesses risk in regards to the health and safety of children for an assigned group of child care homes* Make licensing recommendations* Gather documentation and conduct follow up visits as necessary to ensure the correction of all cited non-compliances within the required time frames* Enter accurate and timely information into the Child Care Information System (CCIS) as required, both through the use of tech tablet and computer.* Managing caseload and deadlines.* Enforcement activities, such as but not limited to, evidence gathering, informal meetings, consent agreements, negative enforcement actions,administrative hearings and injunction hearings.* Investigate complaints of licensed and unlicensed homes.* Provide technical assistance to child care programs as needed to ensure regulatory compliance and safety for children.* Consultation with the stakeholders including early childhood professionals, advocates, and families* Review and interpretation of existing and proposed rules, regulations, legislation, and the development of corresponding policies and procedures.* Participation in work groups and participation in local collaborative partnerships as applicable.* Returning all calls/emails/texts/correspondence within the required timeframes.* Related job duties as assigned.* Attend trainings and staff meetings.
